Our Story

Victoria Wagner

Victoria was raised in Sammamish, WA and loves the Pacific NW. It always amazes her how close everything is from the water, to the city, to the snowy mountains just an hour away. Victoria loves tea and crocheting and is involved in a charitable organization. From having family in the UK, Victoria grew up loving traveling and exploring different places, cultures, histories, and food! Her first plane ride by herself was when she was 4!
Graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in Computer Science, Victoria started to work at a small little company called Tableau. Seven years later, it isn't so tiny anymore.

Tyler Beauchamp

Tyler was born in Castro Valley, CA but raised in Vancouver, WA. He gained an appreciation for traveling at an early age due to his father's airline employee benefits. He's an Eagle Scout whose time in the Boy Scouts built his appreciation for outdoor activities from hiking to kayaking.
Graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in Computer Engineering he moved to the Bay Area to start his career.
Wanting to move back to the NW, he started to work for Tableau, a Seattle based company out of the Palo Alto, CA office.
In 2018 he moved to Ballard, Seattle.

How We Met

It's complicated...
We both graduated from the CSE department at UW.
Victoria's team was based in Palo Alto and we would pass each other in the halls during her quarterly visits. We ended up reacquainting over a kitchen video call (thanks Michael) during a virtual happy hour.
Between UW and Tableau, there was a lot of overlap between our friend circles. Shortly after Tyler moved back to Seattle, we ended up at a mutual friend's birthday party (thanks Toby); and ended up talking the whole night away.
After hanging out in New Orleans during Tableau Conference, watching a UW football game, and cooking Thanksgiving dinner together we figured out that we were dating and the rest is history...

The Proposal

The proposal was planned for 2020 ... 2020 did not plan for COVID.
Luckily in September we had a road trip & houseboat vacation planed with a few friends on Lake Powell in Utah/Arizona.
Not wanting to lose the ring overboard, Tyler knew he needed to pop the question during our one land excursion to Rainbow Bridge National Monument.
Things couldn't have gone better. As we pulled up to the dock, we discovered we had the whole place to ourselves. We enjoyed the hike up the canyon and arrived in perfect golden hour for pictures.
While pretending to pose for Christmas card pictures, Tyler got down on one knee and Victoria backed away in shock... then she said YES with a big smile!
We all celebrated that night with some bubbly.

Wedding Party

Claire McQuin

Victoria met Claire at university where they both studied Computer Science and Engineering. Claire also minored in dance and encouraged Victoria to take dance classes which Victoria very much enjoyed. Since graduation, Victoria and Claire have stayed close, bonding over PNB performances, happy-hour sushi, card games, travel, and especially boys!

Dustin Richmond

Dustin and Tyler lived on the same engineering floor in the dorms at UW freshman year. Quickly bonding over games and engineering classes their friendship grew into housemates for junior and senior year.
After graduation they moved to opposite sides of CA but stayed in touch, meeting up in the Bay, San Diego, and even Death Valley.
They both ended up moving back to Seattle the same month and have enjoyed being closer once again.

Jillian Liner

Victoria met Jillian through a coworker (thanks Brecht!). Their friendship quickly grew from a love of everything Bachelor and a good glass of rose!
They text continuously during Bachelor nights as the pandemic prevented in person get-togethers where I'm pretty sure our significant others just roll their eyes as they already know who we are texting.

Whitney Wilson

Tyler and Whitney met thru a mutual friend and the Bay Area Waterski Club. Their mutual love of outdoor activities kept bringing them together for more adventures: boating, wakeboarding, water skiing, kneeboarding, tubing, jet-skiing, snowboarding, downhill skiing, x-country skiing, back-country skiing, snow-shoeing, hiking, camping, kayaking, white water rafting, off-roading, etc...

Tidbits

Who made the first move? How?
Our next door neighbours (thanks Sarah and Wes), who finally asked if we were dating yet.
I think we were the last ones to figure it out!
We’re on the same page about
Tea with milk ... but really life, spending time with each other and the people we love the most (You!)
The most spontaneous thing we’ve done
Have you met us? We are not spontaneous people. We would have to plan for that.
What's your favorite activity together?
Playing board games
We are regulars at
Tilikum Place Cafe, Billy Beach Sushi, & Locust Cider Ballard
Where are you going for your honeymoon?
We don't know, planning a wedding is enough for right now... perhaps somewhere that neither of us have been.
Any suggestions?
What's the best meal you have eaten together?
Homemade: lamb roast with roast potatoes!
Restaurant: ROOST in Santa Barbara - It was an amazing experience where we had the whole place to ourselves and the owner served us delicious food & wine!

What's one thing you wish you would have known earlier about each other?
Victoria's sense of direction - She was so good at knowing where everything was in New Orleans she accidentally tricked Tyler into thinking she had a good sense of direction. He quickly found out the hard way back home in Seattle.
Tyler and his projects - Victoria quickly found that there had to be at least 5 different projects going around at the house at once.
What's the most memorable trip you have taken together?
They are all memorable in their own way. We did a lot of traveling in 2019, I think we must have known there was a pandemic coming!
Portland was our first trip together.
Victoria, BC & Santa Barbara were fun getaways.
Bali was such a unique experience.
London where Victoria could show Tyler around.
Utah/Arizona for relaxing on the lake and exploring all the different National Parks - and of course that's where we got engaged!
